Just come home from work. Not feeling very well at all. You know how in movies made of cheese, the bad guy you saw blown into oblivion five scenes earlier suddenly pops his head through the door and says "Hey-hey! Bet you thought you'd seen the last of me, eh?" and then attacks the good guy again? Well that's what the flu is doing with me right now. Joy...

Well if anything, it saves me from falling out with my secretary over this legislation the French are introducing to prohibit the wearing of any religious/cultural symbols or clothes within state schools. She is French and believes it is the right thing to do, which is also the majority view in France. On the other hand, I believe that it's going too far. Whilst I agree that separation of the state and the Church is a good idea, this is taking that out of context and turning it into an exercise of social cleansing. This may be a harsh view, however, after hearing it said that "if they come to our country, they must be like us and if they don't like it they must go elsewhere" I am very bitter. Foul play on behalf of the French.
