While today it seems my cough doesn't want to go away, at least I feel a lot better than I have done all week. Guess I'll be good to go on Monday and get my teeth back into work.

Yesterday the source code to Windows2000 appeared on the Internet, quickly spreading like wild fire over the IRC networks, then popping up as a torrent before finally flooding the P2P file sharing networks. SlashDot has, of course, got all the nerds in the world, who have suddenly have become experts in Windows2000 source code, discussing all the implications of this leak. In my opinion, if Microsoft is right that the total source for Windows2000 is actually singing to the tune of 40Gb, then the 645Mb of code, once uncompressed from it's 203Mb zip, is no big deal. Just over one percent? Phhhh...

Well the saga continues today and I'm sure it's mostly due to code kiddies wanting to be able to say to their friends that they've got it. I wouldn't have thought more than 5% of the people downloading this would have a clue what they're looking at. If anything does come of it, we'll find out when the time comes.
