Commuting into work means either listening to CDs or the radio. While I have a six CD auto-changer, the same six CDs can get a bit boring when changing them means going into the boot of the car ((sorry but in my fathers car, the auto-changer loads from the dashboard - perfect for people aspiring to remain seated in their vehicle)). Oh don't worry though, I'm not that lazy I can't change CDs in the rack, for only this morning I loaded Ministry of Sound's Clubbers Guide 2004 and a couple of other CDs in ;). Anywho, the radio doesn't need loading - which means I tend to listen to it a lot more.
Some bright spark decided to remove Sarah Cocks from the morning slot on BBC Radio One, replacing her with Chris Moyels, meaning I can once again listen to the station on the way into work, without thinking I’m listening to BBC Radio Cornwall’s “Talking Horse Show” or something. Simply can’t stand the woman.
Driving home, I’ll catch the last fifteen minutes of music on Radio One at 1730, before the fifteen minutes of news at 1745. At 1800 I’ll switch over to BBC Radio Four and the six o’clock news. Some days I’ll listen to Radio Four continuously – I enjoy Morning and PM ((anyone who listens will know what I’m talking about)) so it really depends on what mood I’m in.
Moving on, today at work I was fairly busy, as ever. Took a couple of calls from people complaining that a certain someone in the office, not me thankfully, had upset them again. The big complaint from a client who possed the question "...and how does one make such big mistakes using a computer?" after I told him his application was being delayed, no thanks to the planners spotting the drawings they recieved were so wrongly drawn that a window shown on the plan was drawn in a completely different position on the elevations.
One item was drawn differently on three seperate parts of the drawing. Problem is, I took the call from the authorities when they complained about the errors and I was the one who made sure it was corrected and sent off that same night; only that a week on, they've decided to let the client know they're still waiting for the revised drawings. So how does one make such big mistakes using a computer? God only knows...
After that call, I stuffed drawings, letters and forms into envelopes and headed off out the door to perform my postman act. This again, due entirely to the inactions of our friend who has somehow managed to either fail or drop out of every single CAD course he has taken in the last five or six years. I shouldn't have to drive around posting letters containing drawings that would have been completed for the 1930 post if only they'd been finished. Then when they are finished, it's me who has to go around to deliver them. The most annoying thing with this load was that it included drawings I had done myself and had finished yesterday morning! Why was I hand delivering letters and drawings that should have been in last nights post?
So when I got back I let off some steam and took my aggrivation out on my mouse, to produce elevations for Eliot Hall ((click image to enlarge that portion of the drawing)) and corrected a mistake I'd made on the sectional drawing - which wouldn't have been a mistake if our friend who can't draw or do things on time, hadn't already posted off a copy of the plan/section drawing. Urgh. ANYWAY...I love these elevation drawings. It's a very detailed building and so I enjoyed getting stuck in drawing it up.
Arrived home this evening to find two new bookcases I had ordered had arrived, along with a small package containing a Dreamcast Mouse. I was feeling so tired and swore from the day I simply jumped into a bath of hot bubbly water to soak the day off...hmmmmmm...relaxing :)
