Didn't see that one coming...

Today has been busy, as often is the case. The last couple of days, Tom and I have been down at the site for the Phase Two construction of the University of Plymouth's sports centre, checking up on levels and measurements around and about. It feels like an age gone past since we did Phase One and at times, it felt as though the much larger Phase Two would never happen. Needless to say, however, we got the go ahead a couple of weeks ago and we've been full steam ahead to push this through quickly. This second half of the project is worth about £1.5million so we'll get a nice fee from that - maybe even a bonus if we meet their Christmas 2004 completion date........ yeah, dream on on both counts! Besides, bonuses are usually insentives for contractors to complete a job on time, not architects.

So anyway, just before lunch I was told that next week the three of us ((myself and the two partners)) are gonna sit down and have a chat about stuff, including a pay rise. I've been so close to asking for one myself, seeing I've not had one in over three years, that the timing of this is great. Well here's hoping it's more than 50p a week...
