Piffle...
Today was a bit of a white wash. It's not like I can remember much of what I did, though I know this afternoon I prepared for a load of levelling I'm due to do on Tuesday. Oh and I was definitely doing some copying because our A1 copier died after its toner ran out. That little red toner light there...blinking...blinking...
*sigh*
I didn't leave the office until 1800. Upon stepping outside, I was baffled by the traffic. Our office sits on the middle of a long, wide, tree lined one-way street between two main streets. One end starts off of North Road East and the other end exits out onto Mutley Plain. Lots of cars use Houndiscombe Road to get between the two but I wouldn't call it a busy street. Well this evening, as far as the eye could see, cars were slowly crawling along. One kind soul allowed me to get out of where I was parked...curses to those who passed by! Sadly, the hold-up was due to someone having been knocked down and killed.
Decided to go home via Saltash and Gunnislake. There are two points at which there are shortcuts and I often take these. The first is actually a one way lane, so it's 'safe' to bomb up it so long as you take great care to stop and have a good look around before exiting back onto the road proper. There is always a bunch of flowers at that spot because of the death(s) that have occurred there. The other shortcut is just any old lane, though I've never seen a car come down the other way before. Today, over ten cars came down the other way. By the time we had all successfully negotiated around each other, I may as well have not bothered with this second shortcut.
Stresses of driving are numbed by music. At the moment I'm not getting enough of two CDs in my auto-changer. The first is...*can't remember name*...and the other is "Suspended Between Eternities" by Noah. This second one, as you'll have guessed by the way I remembered what it was, is very very cool.
