Good day
Naomi had left before I had woken up, headed back to her house in Salford, though we had said our goodbyes yesterday because she planned to leave early in the morning. Seeing I'm on holiday, getting up in the mornings doesn't have its usual urgency. Well with my sister gone, I took Meg up on the moors for a proper run today. Naomi will often come with us but it'll mean I have this voice calling for me to slow down from in the distance behind me. Well she's 280+ miles away now and won't be back for a while so that'll not be happening.
I parked the car and decided to head off in a direction I've not been before. I'll certainly be headed that way a lot more often, though in future I now know there's an area of marshland that I somehow managed to walk into the middle of before realising it. What an ass.
Meg enjoyed herself, as ever. She didn't seem too phased when at one point, she thought she could jump over a stream and ended up landing half-way. Water was only about eight inches deep. Well about an hour later we came up to a much deeper and stronger flowing stream. Wider too. This time, Meg wasn't in the mood to cross. I walked down one side with her on the other, until we reached a stretch where the water was very calm and only a foot deep. As I beconed her to cross, she just looked at me, gave me a big grin and lay down. She remained there as I walked on to find a better place for me to cross over to her and I decided to rest with her. Soon enough it was time to move on and I went back across. Meg was sat upright, still not in the mood to cross so I knelt down on the opposing bank and started splashing water up at her. The sweet thing just sat there and took it! Heehee...I imagine she need cooling down because of the sun beating down on us but you know, if she swam across to me then she'd find herself feeling really nice and cool. Try telling her that.
In the end, walking further down, Meg found herself a slab of granite laid over the water as a footbridge and we finally made way back towards the car. At least, where I thought the car was. Luckily for me I guessed our bearing quite well and within half an hour we were back at the car. It had been a long walk and we'd covered a good distance in the time we'd been out. Meg spent the rest of the day asleep, until finding a second wind later in the evening.
My replacement grahpics card still hasn't arrived...
