And the rest?

Decided to wrap up all the little minor things in another post, seeing as how the last post just now was consumed by the crap that's been going on at work.

Well my day-release at college has started up again, and this will be the last of four years. The college are now issuing students with ID cards and if we can't present it when asked, security will escort us off the premises; so for some, what better excuse for not turning up to class? "Oh I ummm...forgot my card, again" Heehee...

My sister Naomi went back to Manchester this morning. She'll probably be down again for Christmas. The other morning, much to her annoyance, she found that someone had taken the wiper blades and aerial from off her car! What sort of person does that? I'm amazed her hub-caps weren't taken, considering how smart they are. I took her into town to buy replacements, seeing she couldn't drive herself in on account of the rain.

I quickly knocked up a teaser to let people know that version 4 of The DarkSide Project is in the works and slated to go live early 2005. I’ve subtly linked to it in my forum signature though doubt anyone will notice. A few weeks ago I posted screenshot that had a folder containing the new site in it and no one noticed. We aren’t making a big thing about it publicly until nearer the time, so it’ll be fun to see if anyone should notice the trail of clues I’ll be leaving. You can find the teaser page I linked to here.

What else? November will be interesting. I'm planning to go up with my father, to spend a few days in Newport to check out the area and importantly, to attend the University's open day. That'll be cool and will serve to confirm whether I want to spend three years up there doing my degree. Also Paul, who is known online by the alias "DarkSide" and works on the technical side of The DarkSide Project, is coming down to visit for a short while. This'll all fit into the two weeks holiday I'm yet to take this year.

Nothing much else comes to mind. I was amused at the Fathers for Justice (?) protester who managed to get onto one of the balconies of Buckingham Palace dressed as Batman and unfurl a banner for his cause. On the other hand, I was later disgusted at the way pro-hunting lobbyists went about their protests. They don't see anything wrong in setting a pack of hounds on a single defenceless fox and chasing it for miles around the countryside. Why then, do they complain when the police set their dogs on them after they start violently protesting outside the houses of parliament, like the uncivilised brutes they claim not to be? Idiots. The media have had a field day making out how terrible both events have been, so far as security issues are concerned. Sure it's bad that some of these pro-hunts people were able to get into the heart of parliament but have they all forgotten that in the past, bombs have been planted and detonated within the chambers of the House of Commons? I hate the way the media portray the news these days...

Alrighty, signing off - till next time!
