D'oh and Double D'oh...
Wow, I haven't updated this in a while! Anywho...
This morning I was going to take my car around to the local garage to have a rather annoying squeaking sound seen to on my way into work. Nothing major, I simply wanted whatever it was fixed to keep me sane. So imagine my despair when looking out the window after hearing an almighty thud outside the house, to see my car had bounced six foot down the road because someone had driven in the rear of it. Damn. Why me?
Thankfully no one was hurt, the wife was driving the kids to school in her husband's car. One of the kids was shaken up but who wouldn't be? They'd driven into it, blinded by the sun which, at this time of the year, hangs rather low in the sky in the mornings. Their car came off the worse, with the bonnet, front bumper, left-side wing and headlights all smashed up. My rear bumper took a real pounding, as did the exhaust, but it didn't look too bad.
The lady and her husband, who was soon on the scene, were very amicable and apologetic. They live a stones throw away and were simply blinded by the sun. These things happen and at least no one was hurt. We exchanged insurance details and my car is now at the local garage being looked at. My insurance company are looking after things and as it's the fault of the other driver, it'll cost me nothing.
I'm at home right now waiting for a call from the garage. They have to agree a price with the insurance company before carrying out the repairs. I asked them to look into the squeaks as a secondary concern and the chap recons it could be as simple as muck on the brake disk. Nothing serious anyway. We'll see when he phones.
Might write up a little about the last few weeks later on.
