Canon EOS-100 SLR
By way of making a mockery of both national and local weather forecasters, the rain that was due to dampen any plans I had of getting out with the SLR this weekend hasn't materialised. We had a shower overnight and plenty of dark, threatening clouds looming overhead though in the main things have remained bright and sunny.
Yesterday I spent five hours out and about taking photographs around Dartmoor. As the weather was so good, a little big diversion to Saltash was made in order to take some shots of the 1859 Brunel railway bridge crossing the River Tamar. Also walked down through Botus Flemming to the old quay. I can't for the life of me recall the name of that creek but many a year ago, the fruit picked from the local cherry and apple orchards was brought down here and loaded into boats to be shipped up stream someplace. I spent a lot of time there when I was younger and remember fishing for crabs with Daniel and looking for old glass bottles with Thomas when the tide was out. Oh to be young again...
...is it Polruan Quay?
This morning I've been out with Meg and taken some pictures of her on the moors. She's a joy to photograph as you can tell her to sit, lay down, stay - and she will - allowing you time to set up and shoot some decent shots. Once finished, she'll bound around for joy. Such a sweet thing. I can't express how much happiness she brings to my seemingly monotonous and dull existence.
Started on my third and final film, which means it won't be long before I head out to get them developed. I'm really dreading seeing the results. Some of the shots looked great through the view finder but I'm worried about any blur caused through movement when pressing the shutter release. It's never been an issue for me in the past - I'm fairly good at holding a camera steady - but mistakes with film are costly relative to those made on a digital camera. Hopefully I'm worrying over nothing...hopefully...
