The good side of human nature

This morning I came downstairs to find a small package on the dining table. On opening it I found a DVD. No letter or markings suggested what was on the disc, so obviously I went to look at it on my computer. To my astonishment, the contents of the disc where that of my I-Stick; which I had lost on Wednesday and presumed was gone forever. Importantly, the data was complete and all my college work and thesis was in tact.

There are some half decent people out there in this world. Admittedly, it is a shame this person has kept my device but I can forgive him or her for the fact they've taken the trouble to find out this thing belonged to me and send my data back.

I was using my personal address as the address of AMSM, the name of the company I made up for the thesis. Unless this person had AutoCAD, they'd have only seen this data on a single word document - a letter I had made with the company info up top. Stuff like the company email, website and telephone details had been made up for the purpose of the exercise. Lucky for me that making up an address was something I hadn't bothered doing.

So unsurprisingly this morning I've been on a high. I was late to work due to looking through the most important files checking everything was there but that's not the end of the world. Just come back from the clinic, feeling a little groggy but that's nothing out of the ordinary. Thought I'd share my happy news!
