Recent happenings

Hello *waves* Long time no post, so I'll get straight to it...

Naomi: Some good news to set things going! My sister got a 2-1 on her degree which is great :)

Photography: I bought myself a Canon EOS-100 SLR camera and two Sigma lenses. You may view a picture of it here. I'm very happy with it and look forward to using it alongside my Nikon. I need to buy myself a system bag to carry all my photographic equipment in because I'm now laden with two cameras and a host of lenses and accessories that are becoming very difficult to transport when I want to go out with them.

Work: What's new? We have far too much work on the go for such a small office as ours. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I was commissioned to create an 'as proposed' view of a development a client is building in Saltash. It's for the estate agents to use in selling the houses prior to completion. I just wish I had time to get on and do it. I've got projects on the Barbican and in Greenbank Terrace to get out the way first. Probably others too...

College: My day-release course ends next Thursday. This Thursday just gone, we had the big presentation I've mentioned on and off for the last few months. Whilst it went very well, the powers that be who organised the event neglected to supply us with a venue; facilities; the free buffet; guests; or press. Yup, that's right - it was a complete and utter cock-up. We ended up presenting to ourselves in front of a few students who where using the computer room we where shoved into at the last minute. Quite an anti-climax because everyone had worked so hard.
I spent the afternoon playing golf with three of the others on the HNC which was a nice way to round off the day. I lost by three shots ((my putting let me down mostly)) but that's not bad for someone who doesn't play golf.

deviantART: I've been at deviantART for a year now.

Memory stick: I've now got the 2gig san disk micro-cruzer that I ordered. It seemed to take forever to get sorted, as the seller wouldn't refund me but wanted to get the faulty device I hadn't ordered anyway sent off to the manufacturer first. Needless to say I'm happy now that's sorted.

Car: Took the car to be checked out but they wouldn't do anything before finding out what the problem was with the coolant depleting every day. Unsurprisingly, after having the car for a day running tests and such, they found nothing wrong with the coolant system. As soon as I get it back, I have to top it up every morning again. Typical. So I'm going to get it back to them when I'm next off work.
I've got two new front tyres from the tyre place a few units down from the garage, as my old ones where close to their limit.

And now it's the weekend :D
