Some time off work, at last!
To be blunt, being asked to take work home to do during one's time off work really sucks. As such, it was important to ensure it was all completed and out of the way as soon as possible. Thankfully I have been able to achieve this at the loss of only two days and my goal is now to take it easy for the rest of the week.
Bringing the work home really went a long way to show how the effects of stress can hit one in even the most comfortable of situations, such as here at home. It's a long story but the required work was due to the pinikity whims of a failing planning department; and terrible time management on the part of the partner I work under. The result is a lot of important work being given to me at the last minute. Working under such conditions leaves me reaching a point at which I hit a mental barrier. My head starts to pound; I loose all interest in what I'm doing; and I become very tired. All very counterproductive and all very much avoidable. Sadly my workload and time allocation is controlled by the partner so there's no helping the situation.
All said though, I will have until the 18th now to take things in my stride. The sun has been beating down on us for the third day running and the heat has been unbearable. Even the breeze is warm. My car is booked into the local garage for Wednesday as there are a few minor bits of work which need attending. The main issue is still to find out why the coolant is having to be topped up each day by as much as a litre! They had it in for testing a couple of weeks ago and found no problems with it. I fear the worst, which would be that this is being caused by a head gasket problem. If that were to be the case, the costs will soon mount up...
Today I have taken and submitted three Geranium photographs to deviantART, which I hope you'll enjoy.
