Computer Systems

Today was my first computer systems module lecture. We looked at binary systems for two hours, which I have to admit where the most exciting two hours of my life! Oh yes, sarcasm...

Binary isn't as frightening as it looks once you get to understand how it's structured. What confused me was when we looked at negative binaries and then started talking about varying bit binaries... converting between them and such... which could have done with more explination.

Anywho, as with all the modules, the content of the lectures and much more information besides, is avaliable on the University website. This includes some useful tables and animated guides, giving us something to fall back on when our brains implode.

On the upside though, it seems that Steph, a new friend of mine, studied binaries as part of her A/S level computing so I can always go ask her if I'm totally stuck... assuming she's not sleeping!
