Enrolment

First off I must give a hand to the University who, having received my completed room inventory survey only yesterday, sent up two guys who fixed a couple of the issues I had raised. Minor complaints, one a tap needing a new washer and the other a cupboard that wouldn't close but it was great to see some action nonetheless.

Today was enrolment day for those doing my course and other similar courses within the school of computing at Allt-yr-yn. Thankfully, this was all done at Caerleon campus rather than at Allt-yr-yn where it was held last year. We had been told to be there at 14:30 so obviously I was there at said time... and joined the end of, The Queue.

The Queue was a two and a half hour process of elimination. The weak fell and the strong prevailed. Drama aside, it was a real test of patience. Once again events were unfolding differently from how we'd been informed they would. Enrolment was officially going to happen during our induction yesterday. I'd never have guessed we'd be queuing that long so it was a relief that a small group of us managed to strike up conversation and have a bit of a laugh.

In the end I walked off with a nice new student ID card and NUS membership. The photograph a rather attractive lady took for the card looks great considering I hate most photographs I see of myself.

So tomorrow I have freshers' fair to look forward to. Hopefully they'll have some sort of photography group and I'm keen to look at languages and martial arts too. It all kicks off at 10:00 so seeing it's late I'll be off to bed and hopefully won't face too much disruption.
