My degree has begun :D
At last my course has started! There's nothing overly interesting to say about the lectures themselves right now, as currently we're having induction style presentations. A lot of the degree courses right now are sharing modules, so the classes are huge but next week will be split up into more manageable sized groups.
For an Internet & Multimedia Technology degree you may be surprised to hear I am learning the C++ programming language to start off the software development module. It just happens that this is one of those things we all have to learn, which is quite cool to be honest. The communication/presentation module started off with a yawn... it's early days! Tomorrow I have a C++ tutorial and another communication/presentation lecture we're going to purely because no one knows if we need to or not.
As well as my first taste of what I'll be studying this semester, I've started to make friends with folks and can actually remember some of their names ((something I often struggle with when first meeting people)). Of interest, Stephanie lives in the floor above me here in Blaenavon Halls and a guy called John, who lives in one of the other Halls, has just moved up from Oakhampton! That's not far ((15 miles or so)) from Tavistock, where I've moved up from and he happens to know the area quite well. I must also give shouts out too Alex, Dave... those two guys and... ummm... that other guy who likes to drink a lot. Remembering four of seven new names after one day is good going for me. My skill is remembering faces.
